"We cater way too much to other people and we need to learn how to put ourselves first." We're getting a little bit selfish this episode and you know what, that's okay! Anxiety. Yes, Black women get anxiety too! We just deal with it A LOT differently. Sometimes we don't know how to deal with it at all, and sometimes we don't even know we have anxiety! But don't worry, we're here to help. Believe it or not, we get anxious too. *cue "So Anxious" song* And yes we pay homage to Ginuwine's 90's classic. But real talk, anxiety is no joke. And having anxiety as a Black woman is even harder because we can't let ANYONE see it. There's no talking about it; only pushing past it. But we're here to help you with some anxiety-reducing techniques that we found to be helpful. One of which is to jam out to Britney Spears' "Hit Me Baby." You may have noticed we've been MIA a little bit, but we're back with some newfound motivation thanks to our girl Miana Melendez! Sometimes you have to take a step (or a few steps) back to get your life all the way together. Well, as together as it can be for the time being, honestly. Either way, we both were spinning from all of the pivotal changes and it was really difficult trying to balance podcast and personal life. Don't get us wrong, it's still challenging, but like our new BFF Miana says, "make a list and tackle one thing at a time." So that's exactly what we're doing, and we want to share Miana's tips with you. Who is Miana you ask? Only the most beautiful soul you'll ever meet in your lifetime, that's who! After living the 9-5 and feeling unfulfilled, Miana decided to quit her job and move to Mexico to further support her and her mother's business. After visiting Mexico during College + several times between 2016 - 2017, She took the boldest risk of her life to move with just 2 suitcases. 1 year + some months later, the rest is history!
